A Pakistani fan who attended the ICC T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and India in New York on June 9 was left disappointed, as the Babar Azam-led unit lost by 6 runs.

The fan had sold his tractor for $3,000 to afford the trip and watch the highly anticipated clash. In the low-scoring game, Pakistan were in contention to win for most of the game, but faltered in the final overs of their run-chase.

Despite Naseem Shah‘s heroic of 2 fours in the final over, Pakistan fell short.

Mohammad Rizwan‘s (31 runs off 44 balls) innings was ended by Jasprit Bumrah. A fan watching the contest in New York was upset as the 2009 champions ultimately lost the contest

“I collected $3000 by selling my tractor to see the India vs. Pakistan match, which we lost. I’m heavily disappointed,” said the fan to ANI.

The same fan also attended India’s match against the United States (USA) in New York on Wednesday.

He lavished praise on Suryakumar Yadav, whose unbeaten 50 off 49 balls helped India chase down a target of 111 and secure a 7-wicket victory.

“Today, Surya stole my heart. I got my money’s worth,” he continued.

India secured a spot in the Super 8 round after remaining undefeated following their win on Wednesday. The 2007 T20 World Cup champions are set to play their final Group A match on Saturday, June 15 in Lauderhill, Florida.

Pakistan still have a chance of qualifying for the Super 8 after defeating Canada by 7 wickets. Their final group match is against Ireland on June 16 in Florida.
