In this match being played at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St. Vincent, Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Spinner Aryan Dutt, who came to bowl the fourth over of the innings, bowled the first ball outside off to Liton. Liton played a slog sweep on this ball. Engelbrecht, standing at deep square leg, sprinted and dived to take a brilliant catch of Liton with both hands. This catch cannot be praised enough. Liton was out after scoring one run in 2 balls. This is Aryan's second over. In his first over, he dismissed Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto on a personal score of 1(3) runs.

After winning the toss, Netherlands captain Scott said, “We will bowl first. There haven't been too many international games played here recently. Our boys are looking forward to it, we are playing some good cricket. Aryan Dutt has come in place of Teja.”

Bangladesh captain Shanto said at the toss, “I have no problem batting first. It looks like a good wicket. We have to be careful with the new ball. Rishad is a very good spinner, luckily we have got a leggie. Hopefully he will continue his form. We have not made any changes in our playing eleven.”
