In the 28th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, with the help of brilliant performances of Shakib Al Hasan and Rishad Hossain, Netherlands were defeated by 25 runs. In this match played at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St. Vincent, Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bowl first. The match was played on this ground after 10 years.

Bangladesh batted first and scored 159 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Shakib scored the highest 64(46)* runs for the team. He hit 9 fours in his innings. His half century came in 38 balls and after 19 innings. Tanjid Hasan played an innings of 35(26). He hit 5 fours and a six in his innings. Shakib and Tanjid shared a 48(32) run partnership for the third wicket.

Mahmudullah scored 25(21) runs. In his innings, he hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in 10 balls. Shakib and Mahmudullah added 41(32) runs for the 5th wicket. Jaker Ali remained unbeaten after scoring 14 runs in 7 balls with the help of 3 fours. Aryan Dutt and Paul van Meekeren took the maximum 2-2 wickets for the Netherlands. Tim Pringle managed to take one wicket.

Chasing the target, the Netherlands team could make only 134 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 26 runs in 22 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six, Vikramjit Singh scored 26 runs in 16 balls with the help of 3 sixes. Captain Edwards contributed 25 runs in 23 balls with the help of 3 fours. Engelbrecht and Edwards added 42 (31) runs for the fourth wicket. Sybrand and Edwards added 37 (23) runs for the third wicket. Rishad Hussain took the maximum of 3 wickets from Bangladesh. Taskin Ahmed was successful in taking 2 wickets. Tanjim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman and Mahmudullah got one wicket each.
