Pakistan Cricket: The group stage match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was played between India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) last Sunday. Team India won this close match by 6 runs. This is India's 7th win against Pakistan in the history of T20 World Cup.

Pakistani fans and former legends are unable to digest this defeat. They are constantly cursing the Pakistani players and demanding improvement in the team. Meanwhile, former cricketer and coach of the green jersey team, Ejaz Ahmed, has given a controversial statement.

Ejaz Ahmed gave a controversial statement

55-year-old Ejaz Ahmed criticized Pakistani players and made a controversial statement on the Pathan community, to which Shahid Afridi has responded. Ejaz said,

“There are 6-8 Pathan players in the Pakistan cricket team. All these players are illiterate. They wake up in the morning and only pray. Apart from this, they do not know any other work. However, when there is pressure during matches, they are unable to bear it, due to which Pakistan loses.”

Shahid Afridi got very angry on hearing this communal statement of Ejaz Ahmed and he gave a befitting reply to it. He said, “Such a thing was not expected from such a senior player. Even at the age of 60, Ejaz Ahmed's intelligence has not increased. The country is already very divided, now we should talk about uniting it and not give such statements.”

India got a thrilling victory

The match between India and Pakistan was played on 9 June on a difficult pitch in New York, in which Rohit and company batted first and scored just 119 runs in 19 overs. It seemed that the Pakistani team would easily achieve this target and register a win. But nothing like that happened. In the last few overs, the Indian bowlers gave a wonderful performance and restricted the team in green jersey to a score of 113/7 in 20 overs and gave India a memorable victory by 6 runs.
