Rishabh Pant: Team India's performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 has been excellent. The team in blue jersey has secured its place in the next stage of the tournament i.e. Super 8 by winning the first three matches of the group stage consecutively. However, before that Rohit and company will play their last match of the group stage against Canada.
Team India's dashing wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant may be dropped from this match. In his place, Sanju Samson can take up the responsibility of wicketkeeping.
Rishabh Pant will be out
Rishabh Pant, the dashing wicketkeeper-batsman, is showing excellent performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. He has played valuable innings in all the matches from the warm-up match against Bangladesh to India's last match against the USA. Rishabh scored an unbeaten 36* in the first match of the tournament against Ireland, 42 against Pakistan and 18 against the USA on Thursday. In such a situation, captain Rohit Sharma and the team management can give Rishabh Pant a break before the Super 8.
Rishabh Pant will not play against Canada
India and Canada will play their last match of the group stage on Saturday in Lauderhill, Florida. The result of this match will not make any difference in the equation of Super 8. In such a situation, seeing Rishabh Pant being rested, captain Rohit Sharma can give a chance to Sanju Samson. It is worth noting that India has to play its first match of the Super 8 stage on June 20.
