Lucknow: The Pakistan cricket team has been eliminated from the group stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, this team has failed to qualify for the Super-8 and now due to this the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) can take big action against the players. Pakistan has to play its last match of the group stage against Ireland on Sunday and after that they will return to their country. However, in the meantime a big news is coming out about the team. Actually, PCB has considered cutting the salary of the players in view of the poor performance in the World Cup. Let us tell you that former PCB president Zaka Ashraf had increased the salary of the players several times with the earnings of ICC revenue. However, now it can be cut and the main reason for this is the poor performance in the World Cup.

According to a report by news agency PTI, “A meeting within the PCB has revealed that some board officials and players have recommended to current PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi that the contracts extended during Zaka Ashraf's tenure should be reconsidered. In such a situation, if Naqvi observes the team's poor performance in the World Cup, then a new contract can be considered. Along with this, the players' salaries and match fees can also be reduced.”

Let us tell you that Pakistani players had expressed their displeasure with the board for increasing their share in the contract and they did not even sign the old contract. In view of this rebellion of the players, the then PCB President Zaka Ashraf had increased the salary of the players heavily but now it can be cut again.
