Pakistan lost to the Staes and India in their opening games to fall behind, and despite defeating Canada, their tournament was almost over. The performance of the leading stars, especially Babar Azam, was below par, and he is facing flak from former players. The critics are demanding the sacking of Babar and the removal of flop players.

Legendary Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has also reacted to the exit of the Men in Green. He wants Shahid Afridi to show the way to the national team after the debacle.

He took to social media to express his concern for the 2009 champions.

“Feel sad to see Pakistan get eliminated from T20 WC. Hope they come well next time and have seniors like @SAfridiOfficial to show the way,” Iqbal wrote.

The apex body is likely to take strict action against the players, with some of them facing a fee cut from their salaries. There is a possibility of a central contract review as well.

According to reports, the team is divided into three camps: Babar, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan.
