Lucknow: Even though the performance of the Pakistani team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has been disappointing, the team's star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has made a big record in his name. In fact, the Pakistani team failed to qualify for the Super-8 in the World Cup, but Afridi has registered his name in the record book in the final match against Ireland in Florida. In this match against the Irish team, Shaheen has created history by doing a feat that no Pakistani player could do before him.

Actually, in this match played against Ireland, Pakistani captain Babar won the toss and decided to bowl first. Azam handed the ball to Afridi in the first over and he did not disappoint his captain. The left-arm fast bowler gave his team a great start by taking two wickets in his very first over. With this, he has made a big record in his name and he has joined the list of India's young fast bowler Arshdeep Singh.
Afridi has now joined the select group of bowlers who have taken two wickets in the first over of the match. The Pakistani player has become the sixth bowler in the world to do so and before him 5 bowlers have achieved this feat. However, he is the first Pakistani to reach this record. Apart from this, Afridi is the fourth bowler in this World Cup to have this record in his name. Afridi bowled brilliantly against the Irish team and took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. The result of his brilliant bowling was that the Irish team could only score 106 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Apart from Shaheen, experienced spinner Imad Wasim also bowled well in this match and sent 3 batsmen to the pavilion while giving away 8 runs in 4 overs.
