Delhi: Big teams like Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka were eliminated in the first round of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the United States of America (USA) and West Indies. Defending champions England entered the Super-8 at the last moment. In the current World Cup, the Super-8 is not only a step to enter the next round of the tournament, but these 8 teams will qualify for the T20 World Cup to be held in 2026. According to the information given by the International Cricket Council (ICC), 12 teams have qualified for the World Cup to be held in 2026.

India and Sri Lanka have been awarded the hosting rights for the 2026 T20 World Cup. From the current World Cup, Australia, South Africa, USA, Bangladesh, England, Afghanistan and West Indies have qualified for the 2026 tournament by entering the Super 8. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Ireland failed to qualify for the Super 8 in the T20 World Cup 2024, but have qualified for the World Cup two years later.
