Delhi: New Zealand cricket team's star fast bowler Lockie Ferguson created history in the 39th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 during the match against Papua New Guinea at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Monday. The right-arm pacer has set a record for bowling the most maiden overs (four). He bowled four consecutive maiden overs in the match and took three wickets.

Overall, this is only the second time in T20Is a bowler has bowled four maidens in an innings. Prior to this, only Canada's Saad Bin Zafar had achieved this feat against Panama in 2021, but this is the first time in T20 World Cup history.
