Delhi: India topped Group A in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and entered the Super 8 stage of the tournament. Team India's bowlers have performed well in the three matches they have played. However, India have faced some criticism for the use of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has bowled only 3 overs in 3 matches so far. Rohit Sharma has preferred Axar Patel over Jadeja.

Talking about Rohit Sharma's rotation of bowlers in the ongoing T20 World Cup, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar praised the captain. Speaking on Star Sports, Bangar said that Sharma has used his resources brilliantly and has strategically used Axar Patel on the uneven pitches of New York.
“Credit to the team management that they used the bowlers according to their strategy. Why wasn't Jadeja really used and why was Axar used on a pitch that had a little bounce? So that's where the answer lies. If there is extra bounce, Axar is definitely a little taller. He hits the ball higher on the bat and you have to give credit to Rohit, the captain, because he didn't go by reputation. He went to the bowler who was considered the most effective or who was likely to be more effective on those surfaces,” Bangar said on Star Sports ahead of India's first Super 8 match against Afghanistan.
It is worth noting that India will play its first Super-8 stage match against Afghanistan in Barbados on June 20. Team India will face Australia and Bangladesh in its other two matches.
Rohit Sharma's team has won all its matches so far
It is known that the team in blue jersey has won all its matches so far. They defeated Ireland, Pakistan, United States of America (USA) in the group stage, but their match against Canada was washed out due to rain.
