He has attributed the reason for this failure to the continuous promotion of captain Babar Azam and star wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan and not selecting the best players in domestic cricket.

Talking about this, 43-year-old Danish Kaneria said, “They selected a bad team. Babar brings Rizwan again and again. How many days will these names have to suffer, when it comes to big matches, both of them fail to play and both of them scored runs only against teams like Zimbabwe and Ireland, but Babar Azam is compared to Virat Kohli.”

He further said, “You have brought in World Cup winning coach Gary Kirsten as the new coach for India, but he will need time. He is not a magician.”

The former right-arm spinner said, “He will start working after understanding the politics of Pakistan cricket. Bringing retired players without giving a chance to young players is a shame for Pakistan cricket. There are some great players in domestic Pakistani cricket. They did not get a chance to play in the national team.”
