Who will interview Gautam Gambhir for the post of Team India's head coach? This is the big thing in the application received by BCCI

Gautam Gambhir will be the next head coach of Team India. This is clear now. This is because BCCI has received only his application to become the head coach. Meaning, Gambhir is the only applicant to apply for that post. Now when there is no competition, then becoming the coach is certain. But, this does not mean that BCCI will not follow the process of becoming the coach. Knowing that Gautam Gambhir is the only applicant, BCCI will interview Gambhir.

Now the question is how will Gautam Gambhir be interviewed? What special preparations has BCCI made for that? And, most importantly, who will interview Gambhir in BCCI? According to the news published in The Indian Express, Gautam Gambhir's interview will be done through a zoom call. And this interview will be done by BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee i.e. CAC.

Only Gambhir applied for the post of head coach of Team India

BCCI had set the last date for applying for the post of head coach of Team India as 27 May. But, when the box opened, only one applicant's name was seen in the form of Gautam Gambhir to become the coach of Team India. According to the news, Gambhir's interview for the post of head coach is to be held on 18 June i.e. Tuesday. But, it is not known when this will happen. It is certain that Gambhir's interview will be held through a Zoom call.

This person will interview Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, who made KKR the champion of IPL 2024 under his mentorship, will be interviewed by BCCI's CAC, which includes names like Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjape and Sallakshana Naik.

Who will replace Salil Ankola?

Apart from interviewing Gautam Gambhir for the post of head coach, BCCI's CAC will also interview a selector who will replace Salil Ankola in the selection committee. Salil Ankola and chief selector Ajit Agarkar both represent the West Zone. In such a situation, it is believed that the new selector may be from the North Zone.

Agarkar was made the chief selector of Team India in July last year. He replaced Chetan Sharma. When Agarkar became the chief selector, Ankola was already present in the selection committee. This is the reason why two selectors from the West Zone were in the selection committee.
