Delhi: Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is very excited for the Super-8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Before their first match against Afghanistan, Sharma said that the Indian team wants to do something special in the next stage of the tournament.

Let us tell you that India did not lose a single match in the group stage of the tournament. They achieved spectacular victories against Ireland, Pakistan and USA. The team's last group-stage match against Canada was washed out due to rain.

“There is a lot of eagerness in the team to do something special. It clearly shows that everyone wants to do something different and we take our practice sessions quite seriously. After playing the first match, we are going to play the next two matches in 3-4 days. It is going to be a bit hectic, but we are used to all this. We travel a lot and play a lot, so this is not an excuse,” Rohit said in a video uploaded by the BCCI.

India arrived in Barbados several days before their first Super-8 match. Sharma said in the video that the players knew what to do because they had played in these conditions before.

The opener further said, “We will focus on our skills and what we need to do as a team. We have played a lot of matches here. Everyone understands what they need to do. Everyone is eager and excited as well.”
