While a total of 20 teams played in that round, teams like Pakistan and New Zealand were eliminated after playing the league round. On the other hand, India, defending champions England, Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, West Indies and USA qualified for the Super 8 round.

After this, the matches of the Super 8 round will be held in the West Indies from June 19. India will face Afghanistan on June 20 in its first match of this round. After this, the Indian team will face Bangladesh on June 22.
