I just regret not being able to do Dhoni's work

However, Gambhir does not regret missing out on a century, rather he is disappointed that he could not finish the match for the team.

Gambhir said that it was his job to finish the match and he should have accomplished that.

Gambhir further said that if he ever got a chance to go back to that time in his life, he would want to go to that match and hit the winning run, whether his bat produced more or less runs. Gambhir was bowled after scoring 97 runs but by then he had brought the team close to victory. Gambhir had made a great partnership with MS Dhoni. Then Indian captain Dhoni finally hit a six and led the team to victory.
