Gulbadin Naib has become the talk of the town after faking cramps during the crucial Super 8 clash between Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

The game was impacted due to several rain delays, and Naib made sure that Bangladesh were not ahead of his team on the par score formula when the rain stopped the play during the Tigers’ chase.

Afghan head coach Jonathan Trott wanted his team to slow down the pace of the game to keep the rivals behind the par score mark as rain was falling on the ground.

Naib played a key role as he fell on the ground suddenly without even being involved in any action.

Noor Ahmad was about to bowl when Gulbadin, who was standing in the slip cordon, signaled a serious injury and lay flat on the turf. His teammates and opposite numbers were shocked, and the play was stopped to give him medical attention.

It also started raining by then, and the umpires told the players to leave the field. Naib came back to the ground and even bowled a wicket-taking over.

The most surprising thing happened after Afghanistan registered an 8-run win to make it to the semi-finals. Gulbadin was seen running without any discomfort to celebrate the winning moment, which proved that he had faked cramps to help Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan will face South Africa in the first semi-final on June 27.
