Jay Shah: After the T20 World Cup, the Indian cricket team had to go on a five-match T20I series on the Zimbabwe tour. There were many players in the Team India selected for the Zimbabwe tour who were part of Team India's T20 World Cup squad. In such a situation, these players had to leave for the Zimbabwe tour with the conclusion of the T20 World Cup.
However, due to the storm in West Indies, flights have been affected and these players are stranded in Barbarossa and have not yet been able to join Team India. In such a situation, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has announced a new 18-member team of Team India for the Zimbabwe tour.
Left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was a member of the 20 World Cup squad led by Rohit Sharma, Rajasthan Royals captain and wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson and all-rounder Shivam Dubey have been selected for the Zimbabwe tour.
However, due to their inability to join Team India, Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah has hurriedly included three new players in the team's squad for Team India.In this, fast bowler Harshit Rana, Kolkata Knight Riders' fast bowler in the Indian Premier League, Punjab Kings' wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma and Sai Sudarshan, who plays for Gujarat Titans, have got a place.
Along with them, fast bowling all-rounder Shivam Dubey has also got a place in Team India.However, Jitesh Sharma, Harshit Sharma and Sai Sudarshan have been included for the first two matches while Shivam Dubey will join Team India from the third match and will be available for Team India for the entire series.
Indian Cricket Team: Shubman Gill (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rituraj Gaikwad, Shivam Dubey, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khalil Ahmed, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Mukesh Kumar and Tushar Deshpande.
For the first two T20I matches: Sai Sudarshan, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper) and Harshit Rana.
