Team India has won the T20 World Cup. After 17 years, the Indian team has got the privilege of becoming the T20 champion. Virat Kohli was chosen as the hero of this victory of Team India. Virat played an innings of 76 runs in 59 balls in this match. However, Sanjay Manjrekar has now raised questions on giving him the Player of the Match award.

What did Sanjay Manjrekar say?

Sanjay Manjrekar said in an interview that the Player of the Match should have been given to a bowler.

Because it was the bowler who snatched the match from the jaws of the South African team. Manjrekar said, 'India was on the verge of defeat. The match was 90 percent in favor of South Africa. The match completely turned around which saved Virat Kohli's innings because he played more than half of his innings at a strike rate of 128. My Player of the Match would have been a bowler because he snatched the match from the jaws of the opponent and made Team India win.'

The match was turned in the last 5 overs

Talking about the final, Team India was on the backfoot for 15 overs.

South Africa needed 30 runs in 30 balls to win. But after this Hardik Pandya, Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh bowled brilliantly and won the match in Team India's favour. However, this does not mean that Virat Kohli's contribution in the victory was less. When Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed cheaply in the title battle, it was Virat who took Team India to a better score by making a half-century partnership with Akshar Patel and Shivam Dubey.
