India lose to Pakistan in World Championship of Legends

Pakistan Champions continued their winning streak in the World Championship of Legends tournament, beating India Champions in Birmingham on Saturday, July 06. After scoring 243 in 20 overs, Pakistan Champions registered a 68-run victory at Edgbaston. Kamran Akmal and Sharjeel Khan batted well for Pakistan, amassing 40-ball 77 and 30-ball 72 in 145-run opening stand. RP Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Harbhajan Singh didn’t bowl well as the rival openers hammered the Indian bowling attack.

Kamran Akmal smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes.

On the other hand, Sharjeel managed 7 fours and 5 sixes.

Sohaib Maqsood played an aggressive knock, hitting 51 off just 26 balls. Shoaib Malik scored an unbeaten 18-ball 25 to help Pakistan post 243 for 4.

Irfan Pathan conceded 25 runs from the only over he bowled.

In response, Robin Uthappa added quick runs, scoring 22 runs off 12 balls, packed with 2 sixes. Ambati Rayudu, the other opener, scored 39 off just 23 balls. Suresh Raina and Rayudu stitched a partnership of 61 runs for the second wicket, but the dismissal of the latter in the 8th over put India on the backfoot.

Raina amassed 52 runs off 40 balls. Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan struggled to get going and their failure cost India the game.

Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik took 3 wickets each for Pakistan. India Champions started the campaign by winning against England and West Indies. They will now look take on Australia and South Africa on Monday and Wednesday.
