KL Rahul and Mohammed Shami suddenly decided to retire, now they will not play this format 2 for Team India

Actually, Rahul was not selected in the T20 World Cup 2024 team and due to his strike rate in the coming time, he will hardly get a chance to play in this format and in view of this, KL can announce his retirement.

If we talk about Shami, he is currently out of Team India due to injury and there is very little chance that he will be selected in the shortest format of cricket in the coming time and in such a situation Shami can say goodbye to T20 cricket. However, both these players will continue to play ODI and Test cricket for Team India.

T20 career of KL Rahul

If we look at Rahul's T20 career, he has performed brilliantly for Team India but in the last few years, his strike rate has declined and due to this, he is not getting a chance in this format.

The right-handed batsman has played a total of 72 T20 matches in his career so far, in which he has scored 2265 runs at an average of 37.75 and a strike rate of 139.13.

During this, 2 centuries and 22 half-centuries have come from his bat, while his best score has been 110 runs. He last played for Team India in this format in the year 2022.

T20 career of Mohammed Shami

The veteran fast bowler has not got much chance to play T20 cricket and he is unlikely to get a chance in the future and for this reason Shami can also announce his retirement.

Shami has played a total of 23 T20 matches in his career so far, in which he has taken 24 wickets at an economy of 8.94 and he played his last match for Team India in this format two years ago.
