A platoon of 15 players of Team India has left for Sri Lanka tour. The Indian team took a flight from Mumbai to Colombo. The series between India and Sri Lanka will start from July 27. The T20 series is to be played first on the tour, in which 7 players of Team India can be seen playing for the first time on Sri Lankan soil. The surprising thing is that among those 7 players, there is also one who has been playing international matches for India for 6 years.
Now you must be wondering who are those 7 faces in the team of 15 players selected for the T20 series, who will play for the first time in Sri Lanka.
So those 7 players include 3 bowlers, 2 all-rounders and 2 batsmen. Now let us know one by one about all those players, who will be seen making their debut on the Sri Lanka tour. The first and surprising name in this is that of left-arm fast bowler Khalil Ahmed. It has been 6 years since Khalil Ahmed made his debut for Team India. He played his first T20 match in 2018 itself. But, despite that, this will be his first opportunity to play a T20 match in Sri Lanka. A big reason for this has also been his distance from Team India.
Yashasvi Jaiswal will also be seen playing a T20 match for the first time in Sri Lanka. This will also be the first opportunity for left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his T20 International debut in 2019, to play T20 in Sri Lanka.
Since making his T20 debut in 2023, Rinku Singh has played 20 matches for India so far. But, he has not played a single match on Sri Lankan soil. This will be the first time in Sri Lanka when Rinku Singh will be seen raining sixes and fours with his bat in T20.
Riyan Parag, who made his T20 debut on the Zimbabwe tour under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, will also play for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Shivam Dubey may have been a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. But, he will also play for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Arshdeep Singh has become an important weapon of Team India in white ball cricket. He was also the most successful bowler in the T20 World Cup. But despite so many achievements, this will be the first opportunity for Arshdeep to play in Sri Lanka.
It has been 5 years since Ravi Bishnoi played his first T20 International match for Team India. But, this will be the first time he will be seen playing a T20 match in Sri Lanka.
