Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson created history in the third T20 against Afghanistan. Samson completed 9000 runs in T20 during his half-century innings. Sanju has become only the fifth player from India to score 9000 or more runs in T20. He has made a place in the special list of legends like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Samson had 8977 runs before this match. He needed 23 runs to touch the figure of 9000. Sanju achieved this milestone in the fourth over. Sanju has become only the fifth batsman from India to cross the 9000 mark in T20. Before him, this feat has been achieved by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Shikhar Dhawan.
Sanju scored 50 runs in 35 balls with the help of four sixes and two fours in the match. Sanju added a record 142 runs with Abhishek Sharma for the first wicket, due to which India scored 221 runs at the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
India defeated Afghanistan in the third match by a huge margin of 127 runs. Chasing the target of 222 runs, Afghanistan was reduced to just 94 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy took maximum three wickets for India. Apart from him, Ravi Bishnoi also got three wickets, while Akshar Patel took two wickets. With this victory, India won the series 3-0.
