India A vs Australia A: Tripurana Vijay replaces injured Vijaykumar Vyshak
Karnataka pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak has been ruled out of the India A squad that is set to play two four-day matches against Australia A. Vyshak has been replaced by Andhra off-spinner Tripurana Vijay .
Vyshak was named in the 15-member India A multi-day squad led by Devdutt Padikkal with an asterisk. The 29-year-old has failed to recover from a hamstring injury.
The series against Australia A, which will be played entirely in Puducherry, will begin with two four-day unofficial Tests, from September 22 to 25 and from September 29 to October 2. This will be followed by three one-day games on October 6, 9 and 11.
The A team had a week-long camp at the BCCI ’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
Tripurana Vijay, who had been called up for a spin-bowling camp at the CoE, will now travel with the team on Friday. The 25-year-old off-spinner is on the targeted players list and recently featured in the Duleep Trophy final. Playing for South Zone, he picked up five wickets in the match. In 17 first-class matches, he has taken 57 wickets, including four five-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul.
