Rachin Ravindra ruled out, Adam Milne returns as New Zealand name squad for India T20Is

Rachin Ravindra has been ruled out of New Zealand’s five-match T20I series against India after dislocating his right shoulder, with veteran pacer Adam Milne returning to the squad after more than a year.
New Zealand have named a 16-member squad for the series, which will be played across four cities over 11 days, beginning with the opening T20I at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on October 22. Mitchell Santner will continue to lead the side.
Ravindra suffered the shoulder injury during a promotional shoot last week and is expected to spend around six weeks in rehabilitation. The all-rounder is targeting a return for the three-match ODI series against India, which begins at Eden Park in Auckland on November 4.
Head coach Rob Walter said New Zealand were disappointed by Ravindra's setback but remained hopeful he would recover in time for the ODIs.
“We’re gutted for Rachin. He’s going to play a big role for us this summer, so it’s important that he doesn’t rush his rehab, but we’re optimistic he’ll be back for the ODIs," Walter said.
Milne, 34, comes back into the BlackCaps setup after last playing for New Zealand against Zimbabwe more than a year ago. He has 243 T20 appearances to his name, including 56 internationals, and adds further experience to a pace attack featuring Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson and Jacob Duffy.
Young fast bowlers Zak Foulkes and Nathan Smith are also part of the squad, giving Santner a seven-strong pace-bowling group.
Thirteen members of the New Zealand side that finished runners-up to India at this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup have been picked for the home series. Among them are spin-bowling all-rounder Michael Bracewell and Milne, both of whom missed the World Cup because of injuries.
The series will also see Tim Seifert and Finn Allen reunited at the top of the New Zealand batting order. The pair last opened together during their impressive T20 World Cup campaign, which included one of the greatest successful T20I chases in New Zealand's history.
Ben Sears has not been considered for selection as he continues his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.
The opening T20I in Christchurch will be the first meeting between the two sides since India defeated New Zealand in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final in March.
