Delhi: In the first match of the ODI series played in Thiruvananthapuram, India made a great start by defeating West Indies by 8 wickets. Chasing the target of 296 runs, the Indian team scored 300 runs by losing two wickets in just 41.4 overs. The biggest heroes of this victory were great batsman Virat Kohli and captain Shubman Gill. Both the batsmen played century innings and easily led the team to victory.

Virat Kohli's brilliant century

Virat Kohli once again showed his batting prowess for the Indian team which came to chase the target. He played an excellent inning of 139 runs unbeaten. Kohli maintained pressure on the bowlers from the beginning and remained at the crease till the end. His innings also showed how useful his experience is in chasing a big target.

Shubman Gill also scored a century

Shubman Gill supported Virat perfectly. Gill played a brilliant inning of 110 runs and gave strength to India. The big partnership between the two ended West Indies' hopes of a comeback. India achieved the target very easily.

Kuldeep created havoc with the ball

Earlier, West Indies, batting first, had scored 295 runs for seven wickets. John Campbell and Justin Greaves troubled India by adding 135 runs for the first wicket. Campbell scored 62 runs, while Greaves played a century inning of 101 runs.

At the same time, Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliantly for India and took four wickets. Famous Krishna got two successes. Aamir Jangu scored unbeaten 58 runs and took West Indies to 295 runs. India won the match with a strong performance with both ball and bat.
