Ahead of the Women’s Premier League 2027 auction on 28th October, all five franchises have confirmed their final list of retained and released players. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru have released four players, with Grace Harris being one of the leading names.

The 33-year-old has played 31 games in the league and scored 237 runs in nine matches last season, with two fifties and a strike rate of 178. Harris scored nine runs in the final, but Bengaluru managed to beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets to win their second WPL title.

The likes of Ellyse Perry, Lauren Bell, Nadine de Klerk, and Georgia Voll were retained by the two-time winners. Former champions Mumbai Indians released young G Kamalini and Saika Ishaque ahead of the next auction. Delhi, on the other hand, parted ways with Lizelle Lee and Alana King.

UP Warriorz got rid of nine players, including West Indies star Deandra Dottin. The 35-year-old played just three games last season, scoring 57 runs with a best of 40 not out.

The most surprising decision was made by Gujarat Giants, who released Danni Wyatt Hodge. The 35-year-old English opening batter was the leading run-getter in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 tournament. She amassed 302 runs from seven games with one century and two fifties with a strike rate of 149. Danni played one game for Gujarat last season, scoring 14 runs.

RCB – INR 1.5 crore left with five slots left, including two overseas players.

MI – INR 1 crore left with seven slots left, including one overseas player.

DC – INR 1.1 crore left in the purse with five slots left to be filled, including one overseas player.

GG – INR 1.25 crore left in the purse, and the Giants have three slots left, with one foreign player to be added.

UPW- INR 3.65 crore left in the purse, which is the most for any side ahead of the auction. The side has to fill seven slots, out of which two are in the foreign players category.
