Afghanistan have dropped Mohammad Nabi for the upcoming T20I series in Zimbabwe. He played all three T20Is against India last month but failed to contribute with the bat and ball. However, he will play the tri-series in the United Arab Emirates.
Rashid Khan has been rested for the Test matches against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
Rahmat Shah will lead the national team in the one-off Test against Bangladesh and the two red-ball games against Zimbabwe. On the other hand, Ibrahim Zadran is the skipper for the ODIs and T20I assignment.
The five-day game against Bangladesh in the UAE will start on October 9, followed by an ODI tri-nation challenge, three T20Is and a Test series against Zimbabwe.
Uncapped all-rounder Abdullah Tarakhil has received his maiden T20I call-up for the upcoming series, and Mohammad Akram, who played his first T20I at the Asian Games 2026, is part of the T20I squad for the matches against Zimbabwe.
Ijaz Ahmadzai and Shahidullah Kamal are also back in the T20I setup. Darwish Rasooli has been dropped from the ODI squad.
