The news of the demise of veteran actor Nana Patekar, who was awarded Padmashree and thrice National Film Award, at the age of 75 came to light. According to reports, he suffered a heart attack at his home in Goa, after which he was taken to the hospital, but could not be saved. Later his son Malhar confirmed this sad news. Nana Patekar was not only a brilliant actor but was also a huge fan of cricket and Virat Kohli was his favorite cricketer. Nana had mentioned his passion for Virat on many occasions. He had said in a conversation that when Virat gets out early, he loses his appetite and does not feel like eating food.

Virat Kohli was also aware of this love of Nana Patekar. On Nana's demise, Virat paid tribute to him and said that Indian cinema has lost a true legend, whose work and legacy will be remembered for generations. Nana Patekar also saw a deep connection between cricket and cinema.
