Delhi: Former explosive opener of the Indian cricket team, Virender Sehwag has given a big statement regarding the 2027 ODI World Cup. He believes that if India's bowling remains strong during the tournament, the Men in Blue can easily win the title.

The major matches of World Cup 2027 will start from October 7. India will face Australia in the first match. At the same time, the final match of the tournament will be played on 17 November.

If Bumrah takes command of bowling, India can become champion.

The bowling of the Indian team has been a matter of concern in recent times. In the last ODI series against West Indies, India conceded 295, 405 and 351 runs in three matches. Although Team India won two of these matches and won the series, the performance of the bowlers raised many questions.

Jasprit Bumrah was rested in this entire series. In his absence, bowlers like Gurnoor Brar, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj could not make the impact as expected.

During an event in Delhi on Saturday, Sehwag said, 'Bumrah is the best among our fast bowlers. If our bowling remains strong in the World Cup, we can win the title very easily.

The real test for fast bowlers will be on South African pitches.

The 2027 ODI World Cup will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. In such a situation, the role of Indian bowlers can be very important on the fast and bouncy pitches of South Africa. Especially in the beginning of the tournament, fast bowlers will be expected to get help on fresh pitches.

Sehwag compared Vaibhav Suryavanshi with himself

Sehwag also praised young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi and compared his playing style with his own. 15 year old Vaibhav is known for his aggressive batting and tries to play big shots from the very first ball.

Sehwag said, 'Suryavanshi is in his best phase and his thinking is somewhat like mine. He thinks about hitting from the first ball itself. Now it has to be seen when he gets a chance in the Indian team and how many matches he is able to play.

Vaibhav did not get a place in the playing eleven in the first two T20 International matches against West Indies. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma have performed well as opening batsmen, due to which Vaibhav has to wait for his chance.
