Team India’s 24-run loss in the fourth T20I on Wednesday in Hyderabad has set up the series for a tantalizing finish on Saturday. The fifth and final game of the series will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing 248, India managed 223,

Former India batter Mohammad Kaif called out the bowlers. “Indian bowlers aren’t even able to get the basics right. This entire series, even during the ODIs, they failed to finish their overs in time. Fielding hasn’t helped this inexperienced bowling. We lacked in every field, which is why the team conceded nearly 250 runs,” he said.

Shai Hope scored 102 not out and was the chief architect for his side with the bat. The West Indies skipper had also scored a ton in the second game in Ranchi to help his side chase down 250 runs needed for a win. None of the bowlers clicked, and they failed to put pressure on the visiting batters.

“Indian bowling plans were very poor on this surface in Hyderabad, where the slower bouncer could be an effective weapon. Pat Cummins has dismissed a lot of batters using that particular delivery with larger square boundaries, which I think was a missed trick by India.”

Former batter cautions Team India ahead of 2027 ODI World Cup

The Men in Blue are under the pump as their bowlers have failed to make any impact. Kaif mentioned that the bowlers have to find their rhythm and do well if they have to win the World Cup next year.

“Team India lost the game because of their bowling, and the blame should fall on them. 247 is a lot of runs. We lost because the bowling was poor. This is not the first time. Batters win you most of the games, while the bowlers also chip in. That is not happening here, and with such a combination you will not win the World Cup,” he said.

“If you remember in the T20 World Cup, everyone contributed to the team’s success. Bumrah was there, so was Axar and Kuldeep, and the batters did well too. You can say Abhishek played slowly, but one has to realize that not every batter can perform every day.”
