West Indies captain Shai Hope has won the toss and elected to bowl first in the fifth and final T20I against India in Bengaluru. The nine-over-per-side match will start at 09:15 pm IST, with the powerplay reduced to 2.4 overs due to rain.

Toss Decision – Captains’ comments and reasoning

“We are bowling first because of the weather and rain. We have got a lot of positives from this tour, and hopefully we will finish the series on a high. We are going in with an unchanged side,” Shai Hope said.

India skipper Shreyas Iyer would have bowled first had he won the toss considering the rain-curtailed match. He wants his players to be aggressive.

“It was a quick turnaround for us, and I wasn’t anticipating the game looking at the rain, but the drainage is phenomenal here,” Shreyas Iyer said. “We have to be aggressive and show top-notch attitude. They’re playing well, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to shrink,” Iyer said.

India have made two changes with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shivam Dube replacing Mayanak Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
