Vaibhav Suryavanshi still has to wait to get a place in the Indian team, but New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner is well aware of the ability of this young batsman. Santner has admitted that if Vaibhav Suryavanshi gets a chance in India's playing eleven, then stopping him will be a big challenge for the New Zealand bowlers. Vaibhav has already caught the attention of cricket fans around the world with his aggressive batting in the IPL.

His batting style is such that he has the ability to change the course of the match in just a few overs. This is the reason why the New Zealand team has also prepared a special strategy for this young batsman. However, the biggest challenge before Vaibhav is the strong opening pair of the Indian team against the opposition bowlers, due to which he has to remain out of the playing eleven continuously.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not got many opportunities at the international level since being selected in the Indian team for the UK tour in July 2026. Due to the excellent batting of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, it is not easy for the team management to make changes in the opening pair.

Even in the 5-match T20 International series against West Indies, Vaibhav did not get a chance to play even a single match. Now, before the upcoming 5-match T20 International series against New Zealand, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer has also expressed his views regarding the team combination. Referring to the consistently good performance of Abhishek and Sanju, he said that leaving such players out will not be an easy decision. However, he expressed confidence that a talented player like Vaibhav will definitely get opportunities at the right time. According to Iyer, the experience of playing in foreign conditions can help Vaibhav prepare for bigger competitions in the future.

On the other hand, Mitchell Santner believes that if Vaibhav gets a chance, he can increase the problems of New Zealand bowlers with his aggressive style. In such a situation, on one hand the Indian team management has the option of trying young players at the international level, while on the other hand there is also the challenge of retaining the opening batsmen who are performing brilliantly. Now the question is whether Team India will give a place to Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the playing eleven or will he once again have to sit outside and watch the match? If Vaibhav takes the field, it will be a real test of New Zealand's bowling strategy.

Cricket fans will keep their eyes on whether this young batsman will be able to surprise everyone with his bat once again.
