Format Change: New Men's 2028 Structure Explained

The 2028 Men's tournament retains a 20-team format to grow the game worldwide and build on the success of the associate nations at the 2026 event, but the path to the trophy has been completely reimagined.

Rather than the previous four groups of five, the new structure sees five groups of four in the opening round before a Super 10 and a high-stakes Eliminators stage to create the most exciting route to the semi-finals.

Group Stage 30
5 groups of 4 teams.
The top 2 teams from each group advance.
