Teams will decide who to keep with them by November 15
The auction of players for the 2027 season of IPL will take place on December 16. It is being organized in Goa. Before this, all the 10 teams will have to tell by November 15 which of their existing players they want to retain.
The second ODI match between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Bengaluru on 16th December. Sri Lankan team will be on India tour from 13th December. 3 ODIs and 3 T-20s will be played in this. The last 3 auctions were held outside India. The auction was held in Dubai in 2024, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia in 2025 and Abu Dhabi in 2026.
There are two types of player auctions in IPL. Mini auctions allow teams to retain a large portion of their existing players and buy new players to fill the voids. The mega auction provides an opportunity to make massive changes to teams and franchises may have to restructure their squads.
