Shardul Thakur is still recovering from a fracture to the finger on his bowling hand, but that has not stopped him from keeping himself physically fit. Under the watchful eye of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) strength and conditioning coach Amogh Pandit, the all-rounder has been following a fitness routine on the jogging track while keeping a close eye on the proceedings in the middle.
Thakur is missing Mumbai’s third-round Ranji Trophy fixture against Haryana at the BKC complex, which got underway on Monday. The all-rounder has now been sidelined for all three rounds of the tournament because of the injury.
Thakur last featured in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal for West Zone against North Zone in late August. He picked up one wicket in 14 overs and scored 10 runs in his only innings as West Zone lost by 54 runs.
He remained unbeaten on zero without facing a ball in the second innings.
