Delhi: The Indian cricket team has completely changed its style of playing in T20 cricket after Gautam Gambhir became the head coach. The team's batsmen have a clear message that they have to play big shots as soon as they get a chance, even if they have to lose wickets for it. India has also benefited from this aggressive thinking and the team has made many big records in T20 International.

India made a record of hitting 400 sixes in a year

The same aggressive style of Indian batsmen was also seen in the fifth T20 match against New Zealand.

During this match, India made a record of becoming the first team in the world to hit 400 sixes in a calendar year in T20 International.

Team India's batsmen left no stone unturned in taking the ball out of the field throughout the year. Abhishek Sharma's contribution has been the biggest in this record. This left-handed batsman has hit 86 sixes so far in 2026. He is the batsman who has hit the most sixes in T20 International this year.

Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson also ahead in hitting sixes

In this special list, Ishan Kishan is at second place and Sanju Samson is at third place. Ishaan has hit 60 sixes so far in 2026. Sanju Samson has hit 50 sixes this year.

He also had to be dropped from the team during the 2026 T20 World Cup, but he made a strong comeback in the second round. In the last round of the tournament, Sanju played match-winning innings for India in three consecutive matches and played an important role in helping the team win the title.

Hetmyer and Brook also included in top-5

Shimron Hetmyer and Harry Brook are also included in the list of batsmen who have hit the most sixes in T20 International during 2026.

Hetmyer has hit 48 sixes this year and he is in fourth place. At the same time, England captain Harry Brook is at fifth position with 38 sixes.

The inclusion of three Indian batsmen in this list is a clear indication of the aggressive batting of the team. Abhishek, Ishaan and Sanju have shown their strength on different occasions and have been consistently at the forefront in playing big shots.
