An investigation has revealed that Thorpe had committed suicide by jumping in front of a train and he died due to several serious injuries. Thorpe was only 55 years old and he committed suicide on August 1, just 3 days after his birthday.

British media reports have said that the investigation into the cause of Thorpe's death has revealed that on August 4, he committed suicide by coming in front of a train at Esher railway station in Surrey County, London. The medical officer said that Thorpe had several types of injuries on his body, which caused his death. In a court, it was told about this investigation that at around 8:30 am on August 4, information was received about an incident on the railway track, after which the officers were called to Esher railway station.

The paramedic examined the person lying on the track and declared him dead at the same time. The medical officer told the court that he had received information about this from the British Transport Police.

Wife had disclosed suicide

Any kind of doubt in this case was set aside. Just a day earlier, Thorpe's wife Amanda had revealed her husband's suicide in an interview to the British newspaper The Times. She told that Thorpe had been suffering from depression and stress for a long time and he had also attempted suicide two years ago.

Amanda told that despite having a wife and two daughters, who loved him and whom he also loved, he did not recover and was ill for a long time. Amanda said, "He thought that maybe we would be able to live better without him but we are heartbroken that he made such a decision and took his own life."

Left-handed batsman Graham Thorpe, who played 182 international matches for England, was once an important part of the team. Thorpe played 100 Test matches for England, in which he scored 6744 runs with the help of 16 centuries. Apart from this, he also scored 2380 runs in 82 ODIs and scored 21 half-centuries.
