Right-handed Indian fast bowler Avesh Khan was given a chance to play T20 International against Zimbabwe.

However, the 27-year-old fast bowler was shown the way out of the limited overs cricket series against Sri Lanka. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra questioned his absence and said that he was surprised by Avesh not being included in the Sri Lanka tour. It is important to make a clear roadmap for him. India won the T20 International series against Sri Lanka 3-0.
However, they had to face defeat 2-0 in the ODI series.

Chopra said, “This is a good question because the team recently went to the T20 World Cup and Avesh Khan was in the reserves. Where is Avesh Khan after that? If we want to invest in him then Avesh Khan should have been there.

He should have been there on the Sri Lanka tour and should have played matches in Zimbabwe as well. Where was he – nowhere to be seen.”

Cricketer-turned-commentator Chopra also said that he would like to see Prasidh Krishna in the shortest format of cricket. He admitted that the right-arm pacer gives away a lot of runs but believes that he has the potential to make a mark in T20 Internationals.

Chopra said, “I personally rate Prasidh Krishna very highly, although his stats in T20 Internationals are not looking very good. He has been hit a lot whenever he has played, but I would like to invest. He has the potential to become a very good bowler even at the highest level. So they should start investing in him right now and there should also be a clear roadmap for Avesh Khan.”

Talking about Avesh's T20 International career, he has represented India in 23 matches and has taken 25 wickets at an economy rate of 9.06.

In ODIs, Avesh has taken 9 wickets in 8 matches played for India so far with an economy rate of 5.54. Krishna has taken 8 wickets in 5 T20 International matches for India with a poor economy rate of 11. Apart from this, he has represented India in 17 ODIs and has taken 29 wickets at an economy rate of 5.61.
