Delhi: Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri believes that Rohit and company will complete a hat-trick of series wins against Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This five-match series will start from November.

Shastri said that Australia have not captured the BGT Trophy for almost a decade and India have an upper hand as they have won the series against the Kangaroos on two consecutive tours.

According to ICC, Ravi Shastri said, “Remember, India has defeated Australia twice in the last two tours and Australia has not been able to capture the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for almost a decade.”

The former Indian coach admitted that Australia will play with a spirit of revenge. He said that the team, which has the best bowling and all-round setup, will aim to take 20 wickets in every match to counter India.

Shastri said, “India's batting against the Australian fast bowlers will be worth watching and of course, the Indian bowling attack will be something everyone will be eager to watch.”

While India are ranked number one in the standings in the ICC World Test Championship 2024, defending champions Australia are currently ranked second.
