Team India captain Rohit Sharma has been given rest in the Duleep Trophy before the Test series being played against Bangladesh. Earlier, it was being speculated that after Gautam Gambhir became the head coach of Team India, senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would also have to participate in domestic matches. However, chief selector Ajit Agarkar has decided to give rest to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Duleep Trophy, so that both these players can focus on preparations for the Test series against Bangladesh.

There were speculations about star batsman Virat Kohli, who has been struggling with poor form since the T20 World Cup, that he could take part in the Duleep Trophy and try to regain his lost form. However, Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma has been given rest in the Duleep Trophy and now he can be seen participating in the Test series against Bangladesh for Team India.

BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar has announced four captains for the Duleep Trophy.
Let us tell you that four teams have been announced for the Duleep Trophy, in which Shubman Gill has been appointed as the captain of Team India A, Abhimanyu Easwaran as the captain of Team India B, Rituraj Gaikwad as the captain of Team India C and Shreyas as the captain of Team India D. With this, Ishan Kishan has returned to the Duleep Trophy.
