It is said that catch the catch, win the match. But, it seems that Virat Kohli only knows how to win the match with the bat. Because, he is not catching catches in international cricket. According to the statistics of the last 5 years, Virat Kohli's performance is the worst in this matter. His record has been the worst during this period compared to other Indian players. The statistics in international cricket on the basis of which we are accusing Virat Kohli of not catching catches are from the year 2019 till now.
From 2019 till now, Virat Kohli has been the number one Indian in terms of dropping catches.
This trend has continued in all three formats of cricket. And, if the total number of dropped catches in all three formats is added, then the figure that comes out does not seem to match Virat Kohli's stature. That figure is surprising.Virat Kohli has dropped a total of 36 catches in international cricket since 2019. If we look at the graph of other Indian players in terms of dropped catches during this period, Rohit Sharma has dropped 33 catches and he is number 2 in the list.
That means Virat and Rohit together have dropped only 69 catches in international cricket in the last 5 years.Since 2019, Mohammad Siraj has dropped 16 catches in international cricket, and he is at number three. Chahal is at number four in the list, who has dropped 13 catches. While Shreyas Iyer is at number five by dropping 12 catches. Players like Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill have dropped the least number of catches during this period. In all three formats, they have dropped only 11 catches each.
It is clear that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been the two Indian players who have dropped the most catches in the last 5 years. If we compare the catches dropped by these two format wise, then Virat is ahead in the other two formats except ODI. Virat Kohli has dropped 16 catches in Tests, while Rohit has dropped 10 catches in this format. Virat dropped 13 catches in T20I, while Rohit has dropped 9 catches. On the other hand, Kohli has dropped only 7 catches in ODIs. Rohit's figure in this format is double that of Virat, i.e.
14. 14.
