The father makes films in Bollywood and the mother is an equally big critic of those films. But, the son neither became a film director like his father nor a film critic like his mother. He has made cricket his career. We are talking about Agni Chopra, son of Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Anupama Chopra, who scripted a great history on his debut in first class cricket last year.
Agni Chopra started his cricket career from Mumbai. He was also the captain of Mumbai in Under-19 cricket. After that he also played Under 23 cricket for Mumbai.
But, due to not getting many opportunities in the future, he left Mumbai and moved to Mizoram and made his debut in first class cricket there last year.Agni Chopra made his first-class debut for Mizoram against Sikkim in January 2023. He scored 166 runs in his first innings in the Ranji Trophy. He had already scored a century on debut. But, this sequence did not stop here. He scored 5 centuries in the first 4 matches of the Ranji Trophy. That means he scored centuries in each of the first 4 Ranji matches and became the first batsman to do so in the history of the tournament.
Agni Chopra's father Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a big director of Indian films. He has given superhit films like Munnabhai MBBS, 12th Fail. His mother Anupama Chopra, being a critic, gives ratings to films. She criticizes them.
Another special thing about Agni Chopra is that he celebrates his birthday just a day before Virat Kohli. Virat's birthday falls on November 5 while Agni Chopra celebrates his birthday on November 4.
On November 3, he made his T20 debut for Mizoram in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year, in which he scored 234 runs at a strike rate of over 150.
