After resigning from the post of coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid's eyes are on the performance of his son Samit these days. Dravid's elder son Samit is playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy, the T20 league of Karnataka State Cricket Association. In this league, Samit Dravid is a part of Mysore Warriors but he was dropped from the team after a few matches. On Wednesday, 28 August, in the last league match of the team, Samit did not get a chance in the playing eleven and thus he did not get a place in the team for the second consecutive match. The reason for this was Samit's mistake that despite getting a chance in many consecutive matches, he could not perform as expected.

The team won but Samit did not get a chance

On Wednesday, in their last match of the league stage, Warriors defeated Mangalore Dragons by 6 wickets. In this match, Mysore Warriors bowled first and restricted Mangalore to 178 runs. K. Siddharth scored the highest 50 runs for Mangalore. In reply, Mysore achieved this target by losing only 4 wickets in 18.4 overs. Once again, captain Karun Nair's bat blazed for the team. He scored 64 runs in just 31 balls. Apart from him, SU Karthik also played an innings of 69 runs.

Performance has not been good

After this win, Mysuru reached the second position in the points table with 12 points. This is the second consecutive win of the team but Samit Dravid could not contribute in both these wins because he did not get a place in the playing eleven. The reason for this was Samit's inability to improve his performance. Mysuru gave a long chance to right-handed batsman Samit but not a single big innings came out of his bat. This young batsman was included in the playing eleven by Mysuru from the first match of the tournament but he could not score a single half-century, after which he was not played in the last 2 matches.

This was Samit Dravid's first big tournament but he could not impress at all. Samit's bat produced only 82 runs in 7 innings, in which his best innings was 33 runs. Despite not performing as expected, Samit played some shots during this tournament which caught everyone's attention and his ability to quickly catch the line-length of the ball impressed a lot. Despite this failure, Samit still has a chance because his team can stake a claim for the final, where they can get at least one more match.
