Delhi: England cricket team's explosive batsman David Malan has announced his retirement from international cricket. Malan took this decision at the age of 37, while he has been ranked number 1 in T20 International. However, he was out of the team for a long time and after the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, he has not got a chance in the team till now. His international career was not very long, but it was memorable. He scored more than 1800 runs in T20, while he has scored more than 1400 runs in ODIs.
He played 22 Test matches for England, scoring 1074 runs, which includes one century and nine half-centuries. In ODI cricket, he has scored 1450 runs in 30 matches, which includes 6 centuries and 7 half-centuries. In T20 International, Malan has scored 1892 runs in 62 matches, which includes one century and 16 half-centuries.
Malan has also performed well in domestic cricket, where he has scored 13201 runs in first class matches. He has also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he played one match for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2021, in which he scored 26 runs.
