The Paris Paralympics 2024 is witnessing an amazing game from Indian athletes. He has won 4 medals so far, including a gold medal. The special thing is that all these four medals have come in a single day. Meanwhile, bad news has come out about India's top middle distance runner Parvez Khan. Parvez Khan was in the news a lot recently, but now the news has come out that he has failed the dope test. In such a situation, he has been temporarily suspended. Now he is also facing the threat of a 4-year ban.
19-year-old Parvez Khan, who recently made headlines with his performance in the NCAA circuit in the US, can face a maximum ban of four years if found guilty of doping.
A top source related to this development told PTI, "Yes, Parvez Khan has been temporarily suspended by NADA after failing the dope test." The date of commencement of the temporary suspension imposed by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) is not known. The type of banned substance could not be confirmed either. It is almost certain that his dope sample was taken during the National Inter-State Championships (June 27 to 30) held in Panchkula, Haryana, in which he was participating in a domestic tournament for the first time after playing in the National Inter-State Championships in Bhubaneswar in June 2023.
Parvez Khan, a resident of Nuh district of Haryana, is a rising star of India. He is a resident of Chahalka village of Tawadu block of Mewat district. He won the 1500 meter race in the Collegiate Athletics Championship in America this year. Earlier, Parvez has set a national record in 800 meters in Under 16. After which Parvez has also been the national champion in 2021-22 consecutively. Let us tell you, Parvez was to participate in the 1500 meter race in the Open National Championship which started in Bengaluru on Friday (30 August), but his name was removed from this race as well.
Khan, who hails from a farmer family, has seven days to undergo a 'B' sample test after receiving NADA's letter, failing which it will be presumed that the athlete is not interested in taking the test. If the allegation is proved, he could face a ban of four years.
