It was night in India when Nishad Kumar was writing new history. I don't know how many people saw him create that history, but whoever saw him must have slept very well. Yes. What India's high jumper Nishad Kumar has done in the Paris Paralympics is something like this. 25-year-old Nishad Kumar has won the silver medal in the Paralympic Games in Paris after Tokyo. With this, he has become the youngest para-athlete to win silver for India in back to back Paralympic Games.
Now the question is how did Nishad Kumar do all this? So he got India a 'silver' in the men's T47 high jump event.
With his jump of 2.04 meters in this event, Nishad Kumar won the silver medal in the Paris Paralympic Games. In this way, he added the 7th medal to the country's kitty. In the same event in which India's Nishad Kumar won the silver medal, the gold medal of the same event went to Roderick Townsend-Roberts of the USA. The American high jumper won the gold medal by jumping 2.08 meters. This is the third consecutive gold for a USA athlete in the Paralympic Games. Although Nishad tried his best to leave the USA high jumper behind, he did not succeed and had to settle for second place.
The bronze medal in the men's T47 high jump event went to G. Margiev of NPA, who jumped a full 2 meters. Apart from Nishad Kumar, another Indian jumper Ram Pal also participated in the same event, but he could not jump more than 1.95 meters. Ram Pal finished 7th.
Nishad Kumar won the 7th medal for India. After Nishad's success, India now has 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals in addition to 1 gold medal.
