Gill was spotted practising at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. The 24-year-old was wearing his Test jersey and smacked the delivery with a lofted shot as he looked confident while batting. Gill was given a huge responsibility on his shoulders as he was named as India's vice-captain in the ODI and T20I format for India. He will also be leading Team A in the Duleep Trophy tournament, which will begin from September 5 in Bengaluru. He will be leading the team consisting of players like KL Rahul, Riyan Parag, Mayank Agarwal, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube. Gill has been training hard at his own home ground in Punjab ahead of India's home season. The Indian team has been on a long break after the conclusion of their white-ball tour to Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav-led India had a clean-sweep in the 3-match T20I series. Meanwhile, the Rohit Sharma-led ODI team lost 0-2 against the island nation.
