Former legendary batsman, captain and coach of the Indian cricket team Rahul Dravid has once again returned to the Indian Premier League. After making Team India the T20 World Champion, Rahul Dravid has now been appointed as the head coach of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. There was a buzz about this for the last several days and now the franchise itself has revealed this secret. On Friday, September 6, Rajasthan officially announced Dravid as the new head coach of the team through a social media post. Rahul Dravid was also associated with Rajasthan before this and was the mentor of the team for 2 consecutive seasons in 2014-2015.

Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum welcomed Rahul Dravid back to the franchise by handing him the team's IPL jersey. Dravid also said that this was the best way for him to return to coaching after the World Cup. He said that this was the ideal time to start a new challenge after the World Cup and Rajasthan Royals was the best place for him to do this.
