India will tour Australia for the five-match Test series with a chance of registering a hat-trick of series wins Down Under.

Under Virat Kohli‘s captaincy, India won the first-ever Test series in Australia, and it was repeated on the next tour, but Ajinkya Rahane was the skipper. The margin was 2-1 on both occasions.

This time, it will be Rohit Sharma, who will be leading the side against the Pat Cummins’ team. Former Australia player Ricky Ponting is backing Australia to beat the visiting team.

Australia’s star all-rounder, Cameron Green, has spoken about the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.

“It is going to be huge as the matches are never easy. The upcoming series will be the toughest once again, and I am looking forward to it,” Green said on Star Sports.

“Every single point is important in the World Test Championship. And you can get an idea of how to go ahead of your opponent. We will try and take it,” he added.

The previous WTC final was played between India and Australia, with the latter winning the big game. “The upcoming series will be a preview of the World Tesg Championship Final again, and we wil try to get information out of the Indian team and see how we can beat them again.”

India are leading the WTC standings, while Australia are in second place.
